لقي توموكوي كاناتا حتفه في مأساة مروعة، ليجد نفسه بعد ذلك يتناسخ في أضعف أنواع الجان، عفريت يُدعى جوبورو. لكنّ جوبورو لم يكن عفريتًا عاديًا، فقد احتفظ بذكريات حياته السابقة، وحصل على قدرة غريبة على التحول، وامتلك قوة فريدة تسمح له بتعزيز قدراته من خلال تناول الطعام. في هذا العالم الجديد، حيث يحكم الأقوى، ينطلق جوبورو في رحلة مليئة بالمغامرات، برفقة مجموعة من المخلصين من مرؤوسين ورفاق. مع كلّ تجربة، يزداد جوبورو قوةً وبراعةً، بينما تتكشف الأحداث بشكلٍ مثيرٍ للاهتمام، مليء بالمواقف المرحة والمشاعر القوية.
